This antique hardcover book was published in 1906 by Geo H. Ellis. Titled “Burning Of Royalton, Vermont By Indians” this scarce account of of a Caughnawaga Mohawk raid on Royalton, VT includes “careful research of all that pertains to the subject, including a reprint of Zadock Steele’s Narrative, also a complete account of the various anniversaries and the placing of a monument commemorating the event” It numbers 88 pages long and has clean crisp pages with no writing, rips, tears etc…It does show some minor wear to the covers but nothing major. Inside the front title page is personally inscribed with the following “My Dear Friend – Had you not emphatically said “no” your name – Grace Colby – would have appeared in the preface acknowledgements, for you gave me most able assistance in the various preperations of this little book. Certainly you and I will never forget the Burning Of Royalton. I most heartily thank you for your goodwill in doing all you could to help me.
