This great little vintage walking toy still has the original card and was sold by the Charmore Co in the late 1950’s or early 1960s. Although it reads “The Charmore Co Paterson, New Jersey” these were actually made by the Louis Marx Company. There is several different theories why Louis Marx created this company after World War 2, but they quickly became well known for these great little “ramp walkers” in the 1950s. “Just Put Them On An Incline And… Watch Them Walk!” These originally came in little boxes with tin ramps but towards the late 1950s they dropped the ramp and started putting them on cards like this one. They made many different characters from Disney figures to animals such as this mother duck with ducklings. Although this is one of the more common figures, you don’t see them with the original card very often. Although the bands that held the toy on the card are gone, the toy and the card are in excellent shape and look close to new. Measuring approx. 3″x 3″ the “walker” is complete and working with bright colors. The card is generic so could be used for a different “walking toy” as well.
