This great antique ice cream tray dates from the early 1920’s and measures aprox 15 1/2″ x 10 1/2″. It has a great art deco image of a woman eating ice cream with the words “Jersey Ice Cream” underneath. For most of the 1910s and 1920’s the Jersey Ice Cream Company, located on the corner of Liberty and Yates Streets in Schenectady, NY served up its famous “brick ice cream” and other novelty items. (There is a great article about the company on the Schenectady historical society website) it appears they were out of business by 1930. While we did find some info on this company online we were unable to find another one of these trays, and the gentleman we bought it from (we actually bought 2 different ones – from the same collection) said he had never seen another one. Be sure to check out our other listings for the other tray and dont snooze on these – we think these will sell quickly! A genuine piece of Schenectady history!
