Description
This vintage diecast Greyhound bus was made by Realistic Toy Co sometime in the late 1940’s. They were located at a rural location five miles east of Freeport, Illinois in a historic mill structure called Brown’s Mill. The company used some of the old Arcade Toy patterns (molds), but cast the toys in aluminum instead of iron. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1950. This great diecast bus measures approximately 9″ long and has Greyhound logo on each side. The inside walls of the bus read “Realistic Toy Co.” and “Freeport, Ill.” The wheels are intact and in good shape. The bus rolls with no issues. It has some wear and tear as well as paint loss, but overall this vintage toy is in pretty good condition for a 75+ year old toy! A great addition to your collection or a great way to start one! Please look closely at all photos for best idea of condition.
